The Wedding Reception

The Wedding Reception

Depending, again, on how you schedule your day, some couples opt to get to the reception site early, and receive their guests there, or they can have a receiving line immediately after the Ceremony (say in the lobby of the ceremony site).

Other couples will have a period during the reception in which they "make the rounds," visiting each table and thanking the guests then.

The Wedding Reception will most likely feature catered food, and either DJ'ed and/or live music for entertainment and dancing.

Having a designated Master (or Mistress) of Ceremony will help keep things organized.

Depending on the couple's cultural practices, the reception is a time when certain traditional, new, or interesting rituals are performed, for example:

  • Toasts
  • First dance
  • Games
  • Cake-cutting
  • Bouquet/Garter toss

and so on.

When you meet with your photographer, do let him or her know of these and any other specially planned events.
